Relive medieval and contemporary history
Visit awesome castles from bygone centuries – walk the trails of the winter
1944/45 battle (Ardennes’ offensive or “Bulge” in the Luxembourg Ardennes

The one or more days thematic discovery program “Castles and their meaning during the course of history and conflicts” will lead you to some of the most important medieval castles and defensive structures where you will also learn about their role in the history of Luxembourg as well as during the tough fighting in winter 1944/45 in the Luxembourg Ardennes.
You will also come to appreciate typical local cuisine and festivals (seasonal).

You will – depending on your time availability – visit several castles as e.g. Clervaux, Bourscheid, Beaufort, Vianden, Brandenburg, explore the “bock” casemates in the Grand-Duchy’s capital (Luxembourg) with their multifold history or dive into the underground of Luxembourg City (must be booked min. 3 weeks ahead). Get the real feel of magic by visiting the Grand-Ducal Palace (from mid-July until end of August) or experience reflective moments during a visit of the Luxembourg-American cemetery at Hamm, where General George S. Patton, Jr, is buried or visiting the nearby German cemetery.
